Sedation dentistry is often called "oral sedation", "conscious sedation," or "relaxation dentistry." It can be helpful in the treatment of fearful patients or patients who will require a lot of dental treatment by allowing them to relax during their dental visit.

Sedation dentistry allows patients to experience a deep state of relaxation while remaining conscious. This allows us to treat fearful patients who would otherwise avoid the dentist. When the effects of the sedation wears off, patients typically have little or no memory of their dental visit.
